As I hope you all know, during the 2011
General Assembly Session, the NC Annexation Laws were finally
changed to restore to the affected people the right to have the last
word about being annexed when a neighboring city proposes the idea.
This change to the law was an historic
event, a big win for the people, and a change that has been heavily
opposed by the NC League of Municipalities (NCLM). The NCLM has
